Just a small example of fun things that can be done with math. Fractals offer a visually pleasing design created using higher level mathematics. The actual uses of fractals other than being "pretty" is that they are graphical representations of chaos theory, and a step toward being able to mathematically predict natural
phenomenon. Such as: soil erosion, fault line growth, and DNA Mapping.
